cd changer question..

ok, i have an old panasonic 6 disk cd changer, but it's not working! when i turn on the car, and open the trunk, it just soudns like soemthing is in there just spinning. then after a few minutes it stops. then if i press the eject button to get the case out, it makes that same noise and nothing happens. and i can't get anything from the deck either.. anyone have an idea of what it might be? thanks!

have you unhooked it recently?

i'm not trying to insult your intelligence, but make sure its hooked up right if you did.
one time i went to my anuts to fix her microphone on her computer, i just pluged it in the right spot and it worked right :) most problems are staring right at you

it's all hooked up right. that's not the problem.

could be an internal problem, try cleaning the lens (i know my old one wouldnt play b/c it couldnt read the cds) or send it to get it serviced

how would i go about cleaning the lens? do i have to take it apart or what? thanks for the input too!

i cleaned mine with a cd cleaner kit i bought from walmart, its just a special CD you put in and it should clean it.

hmm. that could be a problem. see i can't even get the cartridge out!

then it sounds like an ejector problem, so u cant change cds at all?

i'd call the tech support of the maker

right, it just sounds like something is spinning and spinning but not doing anything when i try to eject it. i'll try that tomarrow. thanks for the help
