florida car meet

i am wondering if we could set up a meet in south florida or florida some time in the near future. ive been stationed out in california with the marine corps and i am heading back there for good june 10th so maybe one weekend after the fourth of july? any suggestions please feel free to throw them out there. one suggestion might be to have it at morosso motorsports park in palm beach or up in daytona or something.

Beverly Hills, Fl is over in Citrus County, just about an hour North of Tampa and an hour and a half away from Orlando. It is right on the gulf. Its near Ocala if that helps to.

Yea, the panhandle would be far out of the way, even for me. Somewhere in the center of the state would be really good, especially if more people want to come. All the people on this side of the state may not want to, but, maybe not. Pretty much anywhere would be cool, but, I dont know if I would want to drive all that way with gas up at $2.15 a gallon.

Yea, good point too. Plus, there is the mall and everything over on this coast. Orlando would be great, because its in the center, then somewhere like Tampa, and Then somewhere like Daytona, just once people start posting, it will be able to make a decision.

Nice. The weather is great right now, but, the hurricanes a few months back were'nt too fun. Dr. Speed had a problem with orders because of them, suposedly. Now would be a great time to come back and enjoy the sunny warm weather. :)

I'm in NE Florida about a half hour south of Jax in St. Augustine. The closer to me the better but I won't be picky no matter where in FL it is. I'd just be happy to be at meet. :)

Well depending on what kind of meet up it is (like what the plans are for it) I was gonna suggest meeting where Mike and I did. The McDonlads on Internationla drive, just off the 528 (bee line)

If you want parks: I know of like three off the top of my head.

Empty parking lots: well that should be pretty easy to find.

Malls: there are like four malls around me that I can think of.

If you want backroads to cruise on with minimum possibility of cops, I only know a few but I would be more than happy to drive around and scope some out. Maybe tomorrow or some time soon I can go take some pics of some areas around here and let you guys take a look at them?

This "Shadow Bay" park is really nice. There are BBQs there, free to get in. Tennis courts, playgrounds (not that they matter but yah) Easy to get to (Get off I-4 at Conroy and just keep going until you get to Conroy and Turkey Lake Road) Then you turn left onto Turkey Lake Road and stay in the right lane and that turns into a turning lane for the park on the right side..

Coming from Tampa, once you get on I-4 take it all the way to the Conroy exit (There is a big fancy bridge and a Mall on the right side and stuff if you haven't seen it) well once you get onto the off ramp from I-4 you wanna be in the LEFT turn lane for Conroy road, DO NOT turn right towards the mall and all the other shopping areas. Keep going down Conroy road, you will go through an intersection where Conroy and Kirkman road cross, after this intersection it's about 1-2 miles further down Conroy road. Once you go over a bridge on Conroy (Should be able to see it from the intersection at Kirkman and Conroy) it will be the next light, you want to be in the right of the two turn lanes because that ends up dying into the park so it's perfect.
