Well, I've been talking to my insurance rep about the misc. add-ons that I've done to the car and how I want them as well has the SC I'll be putting in soon, to be insured. She told me to send her an itemized list which includes the rims, tires, and SC totalling about $5500 and she got back to me with these numbers:
Increase in comprehensive coverage: ~$60.00
Increase in liability coverage: ~$100.00
Not being upset when your car is stolen: $N/A (priceless)
If you ask me, I think it is worth paying $160/yr. to protect my SC and rims... Don't get stuck with a multi-thousand dollar loss when your car gets jacked...
on my plan you just have to keep recipes and proof(pics) of them on the car. Them they just add them on if they get damage. No extra charge since if there bolted to the car its covered

I am worried they might drop me if they find out I have such a high performance machine. They won't insure any M3's, Vettes, Cobras at my company... GAGT SCed? -No way, I may as well have a POS McLaren!:rage:

Well... I would say contact your carrier and MAKE SURE. It is better to know than to assume and be wrong. I checked w/ my company and they would only cover up to an extra $1,500.00...
Pat: you should ask your agent in a purely "theoretical" context. I was talking to my agent and she said that she would have to "find out for me" because power-adders are different w/ liability... She came back to me and said it wasn't in their "red" list and it wasn't a rear-wheel drive car, so it barely raised it. It's important to look into...

State farm is the same as Doug said. As long as you have reciepts for the products you will get the money back ON TOP OF the car cost (if the entire thing was stolen). However, for tires depreciation is calculated. I had my last ride stolen and I got reimbursed for everything that was taken (wheels, stereo, tires).
Because of this, my ride is actually worth more if it were stolen...THAT IS NOT TO BE TAKEN AS A HIDDEN COMMENT. If my car were stolen and never found I could get book value for the stock ride which would be about $12,500. Then add about $6500 in aftermarket and I would have $19,000. That's more than what I could sell it for!

just to give y'all a quick update, my insurance company called and confirmed that my yearly rate is increased by about $150.00 for theft/comprehensive/collision, and it even includes my SLP... I strongly urge all of you to check with your company and make sure 100%

Dude its RECEIPTS. You can't cook your add ons. Just busting chops
Anyway, I beleive if you have renters insurance/homeowners insurance, anything in or on the car stolen is covered through that. I do not beleive that if stuff is stolen it is covered under the regular car insurance without raising your premiums.
Just my .02 from my insurance.
