I am looking to race my car this friday night at the track. Does anyone have any guesses on what my quarter mile time might be. I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am SE 4 cyl, 2.4 L .

^ ^ What? Slower times in an auto then in a stick? I thought that in general the time it took to shift would just about always make the auto faster.

But a manual would have 5 gears, keeping you up in the powerband a little more.

Not really. Take anything that wieghs anything out of your car, get someone small and light to drive your car. Don't have much gas in it. Make sure air filter etc is clean.

Damn, not bad. I'd say a new intake, exhaust, get the fuel filter replaced, and thats about it. Unless you really want to get serious.

Not a problem man. The 2.4 can be a damn good engine. Feel free to ask around if you have any more ?'s.
