ok so the other day when i started my car i stepped on the gas a little bit before i put it in drive and i noticed if u step on the gas the rpms go up and they stay there for a few seconds before the engine starts to rev down. like after i get off the gas it still says at whatever rpms i just got it to for like 5 secs and then it will just decrease could it be the TPS?

did you let it warm up 1st? or start it and go right to reving?

That is going to be normal if the engine was cold. The reason is because the engine is running rich and the IAC is dialed out to a high rev when you rev when it is cold. So the engine doesnt load up with gas from a rev that rich. If that makes sence to you.

PS. Revving a cold engine isn't necessarily a good thing to do.
