First off I've never done this with a FWD trans. Take the top line (Pressure line) out of the radiator. Put a hose on it and into drain pan. Run engine till the hose burps.
Anybody done this?
How much fluid did you get out?
Will it drain the torque converter?
Thanks, Mike

Isn't that like running the engine with the drain plug out to get the oil out of the pump? The transmission fluid is a lubricant. Draining it with the engine running is running it without a lubricant.

That being said, it also it the coupling agent in the torque converter and when the fluid gets low enough, the pump will stop turning. You can't get it all.
