just recently, my 99 gagt went over 100k miles. about a week ago, i've started getting a humming noise from the engine or tire somewhere in the front when i hit 30 mph. the humming is noticable and you can feel it on the floor of the car and the pedals. help?

Need a new hub assembly. Your wheel bearing(s) are shot.

+1, defintely sounds like a wheel bearing. Does the noise get louder and softer depending on which way you turn? You can figure out which side it is by doing that, they get louder as you transfer more weight and sideloading onto them.

not too sure on the sound it makes when turning, i'm thinking it is the same sound. however, before i get to 30 mph, it sounds regular, then as soon as 30 hits, the loud humming starts. it gets kinda louder as speed increases. how can i diagnose this and could it be the ball bearing?

Trust us. Its the wheel bearing 100%. the reason why you dont hear it before 30 is because your tire isnt moving fast enough. When it picks up momentum, the noise will just get louder. Go 50mph and move the wheel back and forth, you should hear the noise cut in and out, unless both bearings are bukkake'd

Move over 30MPh and make fast turns on both right and left , If the sound becomes louder when you turn left then it's your right wheel bearing , And vice versa , I changed mine a week ago.
