How do I change my transmission fluid, i've found the cap, but it's at an odd spot under the throttle body area. I can't get to it.

you pull the transmission pan off, making a big mess while doing it.
replace the filter while it is off.
put it back on.
get a funnel.
put the said funnel in the tranny fill hole.
fill tranny with the right amount of fluid.

you can't get take the cap off w/o practically removing the engine! it's buried under the f****ing thing.

From what I remember, you will have to remove the airbox. and you can easily see the cap

Does you`r car an auto or stick shift tranny ? If its an auto you need to jack it up enough that you can get under it . Place a bucket (drip can, catch can ect. as long as it can hold at least one gallon) under the tranny pan . Unbolt the tranny pan and try not to get too messy. Replace the tranny filter and pan with new gasket. Take out the tranny fluid dipstick , and put a funnel in the tube. Refill the tranny , it should take at least 4 quarts.

Have fun , thats about the easiest repare there is on a grand am next to replacing the coil pack.

99 or newer there is no dipstick... jus a filler hole under the throttle body, so in terms its not to easy...

no dipstick to measure, but there is a way you have to jack the car up level and high enough for you get under it. on the right side of the tranny there is a small plug/screw take it out fuild should be up to the opening, if not needs to be filled, if it pours out its to full.
