what kind of engine des it have? my bro had a 91 with a TECH 4, and it was an excellent car, as fast as a GA with a 3.4 if you can drive it well. But make sure it has the TECH 4, not the QUAD 4. I've heard so many horror stories about those cars with the QUAD 4 it's not even funny.

Check the 8th digit in the VIN. If it's "A" the car has the rare HO Quad 4. With 180HP and 5-speed, it's certainly worth getting. Trust me, I spent years tracking one down. IMO the manual GA's are where it's at... I got bored with my V6/auto in the short time I had it.

 Do your homework before you open your mouth please. There's absolutely nothing factually correct in your post.

I'd def look into it. How many miles on the odometer? Due to the age it may look a bit rough... but if the price is right it's a hell of a beater. ;)

Not bad. Most of the common "breakables" will have done so already. (heater core, headlamp combo switch, sometimes head gasket) I'm at 133K on my 94 (same engine/transmission as that 92)

I'm not sure of his needs in a vehicle, but should be close to $1,300 going by private Bluebook value... that's not a huge gamble. But if "sh1t happens" he could recoupe about half of that selling various parts.

If he's interested in learning more about the engine have him browse around http://www.quad4forums.com/

the only thing is its at a car lot and thinking of financing it for $2000. that is what they want for it.

I wouldn't finance a car that old... especially thru some random used car lot.

^Go there and get the value (it's the "HO Quad 4" on that engine list)... print that out and take it with you for bargaining purposes. Don't let them find out it's a rare engine/transmission tho.

does make a difference if its a 16 valve engine or is it the same

The Vin code "A" is the "High Output" version of the 16-valve. In other words, all code "A" engines have 16 valves.
