I know there was talk about this a long time ago, cause I recall seeing it once or twice. I'm not positive it was on this site, but has anyone custom installed exhaust tips out of the rear backup lamps on the bottom of the bumper? I wonder how that would look, even though then the original spot would be empty..but hey, just thought i'd ask!

AFAIK nobody has done this, I think the exhaust would be too hot, and might melt the bumper, or at least put burn marks on it. you'd probably have to wrap the exhaust in some heat wrap stuff, but I'm sure this isn't an extremely difficult mod. Would it look good? hmm...it would look OK, I think I'd have to see it in person to truly decide if I liked it.

I think it would look like you were trying too hard, IMO. The empty stock exhaust areas would be lacking. Plus.....remember the way Mustang owners would pop their exhaust tips through the huge rear bumper cover on late 80's/early 90's Rustangs? My 2 cents though..... looked awesome on late 50's Caddy's....ya never know

I think it would look better on an se, cuz then it wouldn't look like something was missing in the stock exhaust tip location.

LOL Yeah I know Alex. Thats why i was kinda curious if anyone had done it. And you know what? He suggested doing that after he had done the work, meaning he had looked under the car and what not. So i'd assume he thought it was possible.

But also very true about the heat thing, those suckers get hot. And the gt rear fascia would be empty. I wonder if anyone has done it or tried to do it. And yes, that would look very sweet on a SE, considerin they don't have those openings for dual exhaust.

Here's another question, considering I just remembered this. Remember on Fast and the Furious when it shows the "team" (notice how i called it a team instead of gang? lol..hint hint to the movie..) pulls up to Dom's house and it shows a close up on the exhaust on Vince's Maxima? And its like, making a wierd chirping noise? Does he have a supercharger on that car?

That's a Vortech supercharger with straight cut fins making that noise.
