130-hp Escort ZX2 is the only model that
is available, AFAIK. SVT does not have a
version of it, at least not released to the
public (but I doubt they would build one).

was it a hatch? Did it have a spoiler on the back hatch below the window? SVT badges? 5-spoke fancy rims? Sound kinda like it had headers?

What Color was it? There is a ZX2 SR out there. The SR is a factory race ZX2. It has drop springs, exchaust, Reprogram computer and cold air intake. I have a friend with one. It runs 16.2 in the 1/4 mile. They only came in 3 colors. Yellow Red and Black.

There were also some yellow ZX2's that had a factory turbo or SC, IIRC....in addition to the SR models

it was dark navy blue, had a billet gas door (which was probably done by himself), stock looking dual exhaust (i mean, they looked like stock tips a manufacturer would put on), lowered and it was a 4 door. no badgeing.

i'm not sure what it was, but it was quicker than 16.2! i can promise you that...

Errm why are you calling the contour "little" when it's practically the same size as the GA.....?

I drive a *little* car by comparison.

In 1999 the SVT Contour had 200 Hp and 169 foot-pounds of torque at 5500 rpm. The added horsepower and torque from a regular Contour compared to the SVT comes from Extrude Honing of internal engine passages like the intake runners for improved "breathing." The engine also boasts chain driven overhead camshafts, aluminum block and heads, and a forged steel crankshaft

Keep in mind this car is a 2.5 liter and had 195 hp in 98 which was exactly the same hp as GM was getting from a 3.8 (Grand Prix GT). Lets say ford was a little ahead of GM.

SVT Contour's front suspension structure is a modified MacPherson strut design, with an A-arm, strut, and specially designed 19 mm stabilizer bar. The multi-link rear suspension is comprised of one lower trailing arm, two transverse links, a strut, and a coil spring. The rear stabilizer bar measures 18 mm. A small measure of passive rear-wheel steer is designed into the rear suspension.

The GA is only 2" longer and 1" wider than the contour. By comparison the GA is 15" longer and 3" wider than a neon.

I was just giving you crap, i guess the contour could seem smaller since it sits an inch lower. They're both big cars to me hehe.

Evryone thought it was a replacement for the Tempo and the rear seats had no room. But I say BOO HOO The Mondeo which is the Europe brother was rated one of the 10 best handeling sedans in Europe in 97 and it handed the BMW 325 its petagree when the ST 200 version which was the SVT over here got done demolishing it. But ppl over here still do not see vehicles other than stupid A to B Transportation. Euro. See Vehicles as extensions of themselfs and Freedom from everyday life in General.
