...maybe its afriad of the dark? maybe there is something on the track, does it sound like its trying to open more or does it just shutoff?

Check to be sure it isn't catching on anything. I know there's a bit of grease lining my sunroof on the track it runs along, check and see what that's looking like.

I would guess maybe changes in weather at night and lack of grease could explain the odd problem. If it doesn't, I'm at a loss.

i know, the whole thing has me a little confused since its only at night. its gotta be some type of electrical problem but i might just look at the tracks and open up the headlining to see what i can find.

Yeah, I figured changes in humidity with the recent storming up in MN may contribute..really really odd problem.

No, mine has that problem too. It has nothing to do with the weather. It's the automatic lights that are causing the problem. Something on the board gets screwed up easily causing it to work only some of the time.

so if you pull the ebrake, then the sunroof should close without problem?

I usually pull the ceiling partially down, push on some ****, keep hitting the switch, and eventually it closes lol.

i think i'll try that tonight...pull the ebrake first to prevent the headlights from going and see if the thing opens

anyone every still having this problem? mine still does it and i was hoping to have it figured out before i start replacing parts. It opens about 80% of the time during the day and 0% at night. It will only open about 3 inches at night and stop, then i can shut it no problem, it just wont open all the way. Been doing this now for a couple years.

did you check to see if the auto lights had anything to do with it?
Pull the ebrake before starting the car.

mine does the same thing but only it won't close all the way either...i found out that when the motor is warm it works fine every time...but when it's cold the motor doesn't work. i think my motor is going out.

i had the same problem once with my window regulator. when it was hot out the window worked fine but when it was cool or cold the window would roll up and down really slowly.

let's see if changing motors works out.

If the motor is like the power windows motor, just take it apart and give it a good cleaning, and reoil it.

i'll try that. i've tried everything involving the auto lights with the ebrake and all...its really weird how it seems to be effected by the dark... its just scared i guess
