I know someone who wants to sign up for these forums, but it says registration is disabled. She has a '97 GA.
Did you guys close these forums to new members, or is it something you forgot to fix in the move to the new server??

Log out and try it yourself. I doesn't ask you anything, it just says registration has been closed.

It was disabled due to many ignorant multi-registering folks yesterday who were coming here to flood the site with mindless yammering.

1. Because we don't have a couple days to sit and do that all waking hours of the day.

2. That still does not affect someone new registering, only those already registered with the 0-2 posts.

Does this have anything to do with gatorademan? Let's not let that fruit ruin the site for people who may actually want to join and contribute.

not that I know of, it was due to Ackbar's constant re-registering and his cronies.

Actually, it was a legitimate question by someone that got a legitimate course of answers. So, I dont think it speaks for itself nor this entire thread.

Anyways, back to my question....

Should I tell her we're not allowing any more new members, or are you guys allowing new members if a current member knows them??

1. Because we have people that register to view all areas of the site, but do not post. The AAG section is not viewable unless you're registered/logged into the site.

2. It saves me from having to deal with emails from people saying "I registered and now it won't let me login".
