First thing: DON'T drive with the Oil Pressure Light on.
If it is working; it means your engine has like no/almost no oil pressure.
If that that light comes on while driving: You are suppose to pull over right-a-away & turn off the engine.
You drove with it on for 10-minutes after it came on :nono: ;psycho
I know a client of ours (via work) that had that light come on in his old car; & as he was pulling it over, the engine SEIZED from lack of oil pressure/flow.
First thing to do (as others have said): is check the dipstick for oil level.
[But assuming your oil level check sensor is working properly when doing cold starts, you shouldn't be low on oil.]
Did your engine make any rattling/knocking noise, while the oil pressure light was on ?
Cold temperatures have nothing to do with the oil pressure light coming on.
[Unless you are using too thick of an oil, for the temperature range you are in.]
It gets to almost -30°C/-22°F here locally in the winter; & I never see my oil pressure warning light come on (while driving).
Using German Castrol Syntec 0W30 (which I use year-round now) & Mobil 1 5W30 (in my dad's car) synthetic motor oil; even when I was using dealer oil changes of GM Goodwrench (Mobil Drive Clean) 5W30 dino oil, parked outside 24/7 with no block heater plugged in.

Get it serviced asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Service engine lights and oil pressure lights aren't something to brush off. Get it towed to the dealer, or mechanic and get it looked at. You drive it around and you're likely to ruin your engine, which costs about 3-5000 (without labor) by itself.

the light hasn't come on today at all...i gotta work at 5, its like 20 mile round trip
should i get a ride out there you think??
would it throw any codes at all?

If you can get a ride......... do it.
You seriously need to get it looked at ASAP!
This really isnt something we can diagnose over the internet.
When was the last time you changed your oil?

well i drove my car over to the dealer today just to be on the safe side, the light never came on...i have about 2900 miles on mobil 1 so im not do for that yet. i checked the dipstick and it is right now the full line so there is no problems there..dint see any signs of the LIM either
my best guess would just be a faulty sensor...hopefully

It sounds like a bad sensor. What did the dealer say?
