View Full Version : Grand Am replaced by G6 or not?

Am I sure that someone has asked this before, but unfortunately the search don't find it.
Is the Grand Am being discontinued or not? Has there been an official statement from Pontiac on this, and if so, does anyone have a link to it? I would LOVE to see Pontiac justify replacing the Grand Am with the G6. They went from over-the-top design to completely low-profile.

Yes the Grand AM is done.
Yes the G6 is supposed to be the "replacement" for it.

Wow, you can't be serious.
Do we need a How-To on the search feature?! This must have been talked about 1000 times just in one week when it was announced. :nono:

OK. For those skeptics out there, put "discontinue" in search and see what you get. Put "discontinued" and see what you get. Nothing. Nice search, but Google it ain't. Heck even Google chokes on "'grand am' discontinue". I had to search using "cease production" to get any sort of hit from this site, but this produced no articles that were positively related to the discontinuation of the GA. Google got back one related article in the top position with "'grand am' 'cease production'". Turns out it was announced at the end of 2003, but the news has since been deleted from www.pontiac.com.

wow, I give you much props for doing some good research. You're right about the search feature, sometimes unless you tweak it just right, it doesn't turn up what you're looking for... pakenney38 can no longer be "busted on" for this thread. :)
