Where is the computer located in the 99 Grand Am Gt? Also, has anyone ever replaced it? Thanks for the help.

Its by the brake pedal above your foot.
Yes many have replaiced it with DHP PCM.
Why you ask? (just curious)

Well, because I have been having problems with my car for about a year and a half where the car will just shut off when driving & sometimes doesnt prime the fuel pump at start. When it doesnt prime the fuel pump at start, I get some of the dummy lights that get a real dim flash to them. When I turn the key to on, without starting, I can tell it doesnt prime the fuel pump. So I just leave the key to on, and dont touch it. BAM it will then just kick on. Sometimes will go off again, sometimes runs solid. I dont think Im having a fuel pump issue because its hard for the fuel pump to work when its not getting initiated at start up. I've posted on this in the past quite a bit, but Im no closer to figuring this out. Any Ideas? :banghead

Its not your PCM that your having trouble with. PCM's dont just "go bad". You have problems elsewhere.

Well, my problems have been intermittent. Almost feels like a short some where. I have not been able to get any kind of answer on this from any mechanic. Very frustrating. I guess I just dont know where to start :)

Yeah. They have found nothing. Could it be a corroded battery cable?
