'00 GAGT won't start ... Fuel system?

I have a few questions to ask so here is my problem...

My 2000 GAGT with 70k miles wouldn't start the other day. The engine was firing, but the engine didn't seem to be getting any fuel. So the next day I got under the car and hit the tank a few times.. (I took out some frustration too) after a few cranks it started. It's now running fine.

questions..

1. Should I replace the fuel filter or the fuel pump?

2. Does the tank have to be dropped in order to replace the fuel pump or is there an easier way? Like an access panel somewhere.

3. My neighbor has replaced the pump on his SE 3 times... is this a common GA problem?

1) you probabley should replace the fuel pump
2) yes you do have to drop the tank
3) i dont know how common of a problem it is. your neighbor might just have crapy luck

If the fuel filter hasn't been replaced since '00, then yes change the focking filter. Fuel filters should be changed every 2 years or 30,000 miles.

Also, clean your fuel injectors. If these two things don't fix it, you may have a bad fuel pump.
