Ah yes. More retro, but this style of Muscle Retro is much more exciting than the run of the mill retro style!!!

With a shaker scoop and the 300HP+ to back it up... and around $30k, it seems like a must drive to me!!!:D I can't wait to test drive this thing. All it needs is a change of wheels and the car will be set.

Here is a quote from Ford Development...
"The "shaker scoop" on the 2003 Mach 1 is mounted atop the intake manifold and directs air through a secondary filter box to the intake. The intake also pulls cool air from the front grille to ensure free breathing. "At first, our colleagues from other teams thought we were crazy," says Hoag. "After all, modern engines are so well tuned and balanced, there really is no 'shake,' so people asked why we would bother with a 'shaker' hood. But Team Mustang is full of enthusiasts who know what it's like to pull a Mach 1 up next to a Chevelle SS with cowl induction and show off."

My Father owned a 71 Mach one and now that he is in his midlife crissis he is foaming at the mouth to get either this one or the new Boss thats comming out. but so far he hasnt had any luck finding a SVT dealer in PA nearest is in VA about two hours away from here, and I think SVT dealers are the only ones carrying it.
oh, and the shaker hood isnt new, a lot of the old cars had it including the Mach 1 and escpecially the Boss 302 and 351. I think the AAR Baracuda also had it, and one year the Firebird also carried the shaker hood. its been around since the early 70's at the least

I'll agree with you Pat, I really like the look of it. I can just imagine sitting at a red light... revving up the engine and seeing the scoop twist to one side and the other... hmm. I must admit, I've always had a (small) spot in my heart for mustangs... the rest of Ford can go to hell though. I actually like the new body style... to many cars today are all about curves and "no hard lines" like the (Ford :nono: ) Taurus codenamed: The Ultimate Jelly Bean.

She does look good, I told ya Rob!;) Kman, I dunno - there is just the right amount of retro, and the right amount of modern accomodation. But rwd, V8, stick, aftermarket, SHAKER SCOOP! Damn, it looks really appealing.... 70k on the GAGT coming up! I dunno... I will have to closely watch this come to market and see what the real deal - on the street - will be with this car!

BTW - Don't forget the shaker on the Mopar Legend - The Challenger. That was one sick boat!!!:D

The shaker scoop system was developed by a Mustang Performance company stationed in Walled Lake, Michigan called Classic Design Concepts. They developed the system a couple years back and have been installing them on the latest style of Mustangs for over two years now. For the 30K they are asking for this vehicle your better off buying a GT and doing your own work to it, you can get to 300 HP with a Mustang with a lot less then 30K.

I have a 2000 GT in the household and we were considering the shaker system a year and a half ago, but decided to go a different route. The next step for our stang is swapping the 3.23 gear for a 4.10 gear including a new chip, then on to headers and a new exhaust.

But more on the shaker system is here: http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/catalog/itemdisplay/460.html

By the way these things have nothing on the old "Cobra Jet's";)

arctic the Shaker hood has been around for decades, its nothing new and where does Ford take credit for the hood anywhere in that release??

Am I the only one that noticed that according to the dash, that car is stolen?

its not a glitch... actually its kinda like our cars.... well maybe not but.. when my moms park avenue ultra rolls in teh driveway... and we shut it off, we can open the door... and the security-theft light comes on and blinks to let you know something i got no clue.. but its just a feature.. I think it actually blinks when you lock it it goes solid.... i think! it doesnt stay on though once the door is closed....
