View Full Version : IAT Issues

I have a 2002 GT Coupe, 3400 w/ram air etc.. It is throwing a code that the IAT sensor is detecting that the incoming air is too hot for the current engine operating conditions. I am not realy sure how to deal with this issue. The car has 36000 miles on it and I don't want to run out and buy an IAT sensor for 200 something dollars, assuming its even the sensor. If anyone has any advice it would be a great help.

possibly the thermostat.... get a new one... thermostat (http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PFYC&Product_Code=GA3002&Product_Count=1&Category_Code=GAUNDER)

IAT is intake air, shouldn't have anything to do with the thermostat. If you need another IAT, grab one from a junk yard.

but thats just it. the normal solution is "change the sensor" which i almost did, but would the ECT sensor be directly related to it?
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit Intermittent High Voltage/IAT - B Circuit High Input
