View Full Version : Easy rig to for broken window?

Hey guys, this is my 4th time dealing with the dam broken window clips but this time I wont have time to fix myself for a few weeks.
Whats a easy way to rig the window so its all the way up. Tape isnt holding at all due to the 100 + degree arizona sun. Back at home in MI the tape is fine, but its just not holding here. I just wanna get it to stay up and put the door panel back up. Going on a road trip tomorrow morning.
Its on the passenger side coupe window

Normally, I'd say duct tape, but if you have the door panel off already, just use something like a shaft of wood like a ruler or steel bar to wedge under it and hold it up.

cut piece of broom handle maybe?

I use 2 narrow pieces of wood. One width-wise, to hold up the glass, and the other kinda diagonal in case the other piece gets knocked out of place (by bumps or potholes). The diagonal piece won't hold it all the way up, but it will prevent the glass from falling all the way down.
Just take a tape measurer and you should be able to get close enough estaimte of how long you need to cut the wood.
A broom handle wouldn't work, but an old hockey stick would be about perfect.
My passenger side window also needs to be fixed. Anyone know which part number I need to fix it??
Here's the guide, but it's not much help for the front.
This is the thread with the part numbers, I'm just not sure which one it is. Naturally GMpartsdirect.com doesn't have any pics.
