Well seeing as we have an influx in newbs with a $150 mod budget lol I figured I would post up some cheap yet efficient ways of atleast making your car stand out (and not in a HEY LOOK AT ME IM REALLY EASY TO SEE sort of way)

Performance/Engine and Exhuast Tone:
-Intake System- Read a How-To on installing a cold air intake. Follow the instructions for removing the tubing. Remove everything IN FRONT of the airbox (that is inside of the bumper, and comes up through the fender) This will result in a louder intake, that sounds alot like a cold or warm air intake system, not as loud, and without the whistle. But VERY noticeable. And yes I have witnesses to prove that.
-Exhuast System- For no more than $50 you can get the resonator cut out and replaced with pipe. This doesnt do much for performance, but makes your exhuast a little bit louder. It does get sort of raspy, but It does not sound r!cey at all.

- is your friend, cheap vinyl that makes your car stand out, just dont go crazy with it like I once did.
- Or take the opposite route, and shave off the badging. Many how-to's on the forums here.
- Tint your taillights! No more than $20 for the can shipped, and you can go as light or as dark as you want!
- Clearing your tailights, again, many how-to's.
- Paint your interior, again 2 or 3 very good how-tos, one by yours truely;)

I feel this is a good compelation of low-cost but effective mods just to stand out from the fleet stock Grand Am GT or SE.

Is this worthy of a sticky?

DIY mods:
(DIY=do it yourself/save money/inexpensive)

Guttergaurd grill- cut to size hold with screws or zip ties (how-to) somewhere
Paint brake calipers- remove wheel , prep and paint
WAI- remove stock air bos and put a 3'' coupler to the MAF and put a k&n on that
Change oil, fuel filter, wil filter, air filter ect <<<< very good how to's

I drive around with Free03GT a lot and it definitely sounds louder without the plastic intake tubing and the resonator. Take out the plastic tubing, stick your hand in there, and rev the engine. You will feel the air sucking in.
