My rebuilt GM alternator is dieing again. Instead of getting another rebuilt I was thinking of getting an MSD alternator, probably 160amp. I was wondering which one I need. Theres the "plug-in" connection and the "one wire" connection. From the description, I need the "plug-in" connection. Also, which bracket do I need and do I need to get a longer or shorter belt to fit it.

Nobody out there has an MSD alternator?
Honestly I never knew MSD made alternators until now. I'd call the "service professionals" at Jegs and see what they say if you're hell bent on getting one. That way if it turns out to be incorrect or not fit right it's thier problem :D

yes as would i. also i bought an ohio generater alternater and the thing gives me about 12 or less volts at idle. thats because those high amp alts are not designed to idle under about 800 rpms. the grand ams idle at about 650. if you dont really need a high output alt i wouldnt get one. but thats just me. good luck to you.
