...hey guys... i went through this section looking for some information for my friend Aaron who is interested in getting a supercharger for his 2002 GAGT... now i have no idea what site to send him to...and he knows that i'm very into the forums whereas he has less time to surf and check them than i do... he basically wants opinions on the S/C that i can't give him being as that i don't have one and i don't know... so if you guys could help me out it would be greatly appreciated... ok...these are the things he's interested in...

1. How much did the S/C itself cost and where did you get it?? ..and which kind if there is more than one???

2. How much did the installation of the S/C cost?? ..and how long did it take???

3. How harsh is it on the engine?? ...has anyone had any problems with their S/C??

4. Overall opinions on your S/C...and Pros and Cons to having it...

...i really appreciate any feedback you guys could give me... i know others might have asked this stuff somewhere... but i couldn't find something that answered his specific questions... thanks again guys!!!

1) cost me 1,000bux, plus shipping, plus overnighting busted recirculating valve actulator, plus new coupler between the sc and elbow for the intake.
bought form personal seller and it's the magnacharger kit.

2) Install cost me a grand total of 50 bux (oil, filter, and coolant purchased for engine)
Took about 10hrs total install (wrong damn actulator had to relocate to clear battery)

3) No harshness on the engine but my tranny isin't too happy.
I have a six pass PermaCool cooler on order. Up to 95deg. temp drop with it.

4) I love it!
car has an insane top end. I'm a little dissapointed in the bottom end, but after being used to the 160 extra ft/lbs on demand form nitrous of corse the bottme end will seem weak to me. :D

Pros: tons of power, the look on peoples face when they hear the whine of an Sc form an alero, easy to get more power (buy smaller pulley(, ultimate sleeper!

Cons: gas to throttle ratio (mash the gas, fuel needle dropps :( ), car becomes a money pit (tranny upgrades will be a must for me sooner or later), most likely shortens life of motor. (no big deal I plan on a rebuild/upgrade soon anyway. I want the 04 malibu 3500 bottom end in my car:) )

I bought it used and the previous owner was kinda pi$$ed at his car and went on a massive demodding spree. so kinda just right place at the right time. Also helped to have numbers to call instead of having to wait for pm's or emails to go through.

I'll get to the strip this weekend with the RSM kit... It'll be a good indication of improvement as I ran about a 15.3 w/o the charger...

The thing about an SC... you can always make your car faster with the simple change of a pulley!! I'll also have my boost guage in this weekend, so I'll be able to tell you how many lbs. its currently pushing.

The kit right now is $4,400, install would be about $600 (estimation) and install time for a shop was three days (I don't know the exact amount of hours)
