Orlando Meet!

Ok well this is a starting of a good plan. Me and Pyro decided that running a thread for a meet that will hopefully have a good show of ppl. We are going to be holding the meet on Jan. 27th (Friday). Our goal is to get us all together and to head over to the Orlando Speed World race track. I know I am relatively new to this area, so someone close to Orlando might want to throw on some more info and ideas about the meet, please post. Also if you know of a good place to get us all together please let me know. Post if you are interested in getting together.

just so its known I live in orlando and did give pyro the track name and such, so he did have some help.

But anyways i'd say i'm down but i've got too much going on and besides i'm over the whole ga mod/running it scene. the ga is too slow and just not made for racing... but oh well. Had you caught me with the like a year ago it might have been cool to me but anyways hope it turns out to be a success for you guys. Maybe i'll come out and spectate just for the hell of it.

Good to hear guys, yea, no doubt, you don't have to race if you don't want to. Its more to meet some ppl on the forum and just to meet ppl that like their cars. So I hope you guys are all able to make it.

ok there was something brought up to my attention, first test and tune is on a friday, so we have changed the date to Jan. 27th so that works out

considering the crappy turnout of todays meet, this may be cancelled, but if enough people show intrest, and can actually go, it may be a two day thing. We have it on friday because thats the only day for freeruns on the track. We cant help it its friday or wednesday.

Hey everyone. I have been very active with my local 2g Stratus and 3g Eclipse clubs here in Orlando/Daytona. I would love to help organize something for you guys, maybe you all could meet up with us Stratus peeps and hang? The more the merrier :)

I definitely think a Saturday sometime in the near future would be great, possibly meet for lunch and head out to do some go-karting somewhere?

Let's start to throw some ideas up here and see what happens!

ok, i talked to the guy from the Orlando Speed World track and he said the only way we could get track time is if we went on a wednesday or friday night. So either we have it on Friday or night with racing. Or we try to find a track that has a "test & tune" type thing on saturday for free runs. I need some input guys, i dont wanna be the only one with plans for this thing.

There's also a track in Bradenton and one in Gainseville I believe, the Bradenton one only has Thursday "test and tune" days, saturdays are bracket racing...Orlando Speed World ( www.speedworlddragway.com ) has wednesday and friday test and tunes, saturday is also bracket racing....OSW is like 45 min drive from here in Melbourne, at most an hour from Tampa...test and tune from 6 - 10 pm, as long as you're there by 8 pm you'll run 2-3 times....me and some friends from my school's car club go up there at least one Friday a month...it's by far the best track around, track prep kinda sucks, but I guarantee you wont get closer to the racing than at OSW...just my $0.02

does this sound like a plan to everyone? so some of us (whoever can make it) can come over on friday and go to the track, rent a hotel and stay for saturday. Any conflicts? Im gonna be going to orlando this sunday with cyrix to get some ideas on stuff to do for saturday. Post up any ideas you might have.

Just to clarify, if you want to race your car you would have to go Friday, the Saturday bracket racing is for professionals, they use the term "test and tune" for days when anyone can go and race. And I'll actually be at OSW tonight, if anyone's bored they should come out, it'll be fun, we're tuning my roommate's Bonneville, but I don't think I'll be bringing the GA.

Yep- Kissimmee. I take my finals this week then I'm off from class for 2 weeks and I'll have time to be social. :)

Whoo hoo!! I had court today and..... I WON!! The 100/55 speeding ticket was dropped and the reckless was also dropped. All i payed was a measly $250 for careless driving. And NO POINTS to my liscense!! So i'll be going to orlando. YEAA!!!
