What are the Pro's and Con's of installing a 180 degree stat?

In warm to hot weather, it does absolutely nothing if you don't have a fan switch. I have one, and even when it's cool out in stop and go traffic, my temp gauge still gets to 2/3 ticks past 200 after prolonged idling. On the highway, it runs about 1/2 marks below 200 though.

yup it really doesn't help unless you have the Caspers fan switch control. The stock setting for the fan to engage is 240 degrees I believe. And yes it is quite a pain to install!
