That's definitely leaking. When did you get new improved LIM gaskets?

i had an external leak for the longest time before **** started leaking into my oil.

he could be like me and never got the inproved ones first time around

/\/\/\ im guessing i didnt cuz it was replaced before i bought my car(used) and i was hoping i would never have to worry about this happening. i went to take a fw pix of my cap but whatever was on there has since dripped off. hopefully i can take a few parts off tomorow and bring her into the dealer

Either they didn't replace the gaskets at all, or they used the old style ones.

i just cant believe this is going on. for like the past week my car wouldnt get up to 200 degrees but the heat was warm. and like my car has seemed sluggish lately i dont know if that also means anything

Well leaking coolent means engine running hotter than usual. You might need a thermostat if your engine is running cooler than supposed to.

If the oil under the cap is milky, you have the dreaded leaking LIM gasket as stated above. I've been there. I'm sure the boost aided in damaging the LIM gasket. How long has there been coolant in the oil? The longer that condition exists, the greater a chance of internal engine damage can occur.

I dont think he is actually boosted.

should see a good amount of RTV coming out between the block and lim in that little valley there... :\ maybe someone didn't RTFM or those aren't the new gaskets but like others said, definitely an LIM leak. if you have access to a garage and have basic hand tools I suggest you try it yourself :)

Yeah, it's definitely a LIM leak, and if it's repaired correctly you should not get ANY seppage from there. Just make sure you get the new gaskets with the metal disks in them (that's all they should be selling now, the old ones should be gone) and use plenty of RTV in the valley. Torque the bolts according to the directions and you should be good to go. :)

What warranty? Aren't you done already with the factory one as far as the LIM is concerned or do you have extended? Or is there a certain warranty I'm not aware about with problems due to the LIM gaskets bug?

GrahamKracka

most likely an extended warranty....something that saved my ass on more than a couple occasions with my GA

GRocks10

How much would something like that cost for the GA?

Your picks look ok. My 02 GAGT with 49k miles on it has some normal seepage around the manifolds as well. My oil level is always ok, and I have no coolant/ oil mixture. I would definitely get it in because you have the milkshake going on, but I wouldn't worry so much about the seepage, I think it's pretty normal, esp when you get up there in miles!

Just my .02
