i am going to get an optima yellow top. but i guess i need to cut the battery tray. does anyone have a how to or can explain it? also is there a definate answer to what fits a 1999 gagt? or is there a minimum cold cranking amps they need to work? THANK YOU this has been a pain for 2 months :hammer:

just cut it so it fits...no special procedure. I took my dremel and hacked away until the battery sat flat.

I found a thread discussing the optima redtop. I realise your getting a yellow top, but if you read through to the end of the thread, there's a tip for where to cut your battery tray including pics.

Stock Group Size: BCI: 75.

Minimum cold cranking amp rating should be 650A.
That is what the rating on the OEM AC Delco battery that came with my GA.

After reading the specs for the yellowtop, I was wondering how much voltage our alternators put out?
