i've batted it with a hammar, used vice grips, and even tried screwing it out (because it's a screw) and it wont nudge...ahhhh

You must suck at battery terminals then... The hole is just big enough to keep the threaded part of that terminal in there, normally it will just wiggle out and/or screw out. Not sure what you are doing wrong but that's how it works.. maybe theres some corrosion on there you need to clean off.

I used a blade and slit the back portion of the Red protector. I was able to push the bolt out afterwards.

did u have to slit it to get it off tho?I found that needed to be done to get the bolt out. Just cut the section that the bolt sits in and not the entire Red piece.

what side? the one closest or farthest from the battery? The screw side facing the battery. You should be able to push the bolt out.

got it out! thanks all for the help...i slit a small part on the side opposite to the engine...not even 2 mm but it allowed it to flex out after working on it for ten minutes or so. Thanks for the help all.
