SC/T Hood Modifications

I've recently purchased a GrandAm GT1 (with a SC/T Body Kit), and I wanted to know if anyone knew what would be the best way to remove the plastic blocking the hood scoops w/o damaging the hood (not to make them functional, just to cool the engine).

paint scraper and a hammer! (it will take a chunk or two of paint off) but theres almost no way around it

That's worth a cringe or two. I was thinking along the lines of an exacto blade to cut the through the adhesive enough to remove the plastic and using a solution (if there is one available that will desolve the silicone without damaging the paint) to remove the remaining adhesive. I have to examine it further (I just got the car a few days ago) so we'll see.

You'd be surprised how hard that 'glue' is. I tried cutting through it, but i had the best success chiseling it off, and it came off in large chunks with minimal damage
