Nitrous install???

Well I called a local speed shop about getting my nitrous kit installed. I was surprised that he said its gonna cost anywhere in between 750 and 1000. He said it takes at least 24 hrs if they install it right. I think this may be a lot of bull****. He also told me I had to drill into the intake manifold. Is this right with a single stage wet kit??? Anyone know of a reasonable price range.

that is straight RETARDED!!!! I did mine myself and it probably took 8 hours...And I was taking my time learning as I went......laugh in his face and call someone else. I faxed you those diagrams....(they were pretty crappy though) I'm no artist!! Just start on a saturday and take your time....its a breeze!

edit: he thinks its a direct port system....tell him its a simple single stage nozzel system.

I don't really know.....Some say yes...some say no...I have heard that in the city limits of Detroit if you have your bottle on they can impound you car....but they can do that if your racing anyways N2O or not.....Just don't purge at red lights when your hammered.....

Well it depends on what kit ur installing ...

A NOS from holly will take about a and afternoon to install that kit.

for NX install the same ....

ZEX lit about 3 to 4 hours.........Y cuz it had less stuff to put together under the hood... :thumbs:


AS far as what that shop said it sound like he was doing a fogger kit with it direct injection to ur intake with is better but only on a wet / dry kit......

Direct port should take much longer than a single nossle
maybe a few more hrs but not 24!

My kit took 6hrs and that was because we stopped for lunch and changed our mind about selenoid mounting locations about 6 or 7 times.
nitrous isn't any harder really than installing an amp.

Yea aleroboy ur right it take's me depending on the car about 1-2 hours to install and amp .. a full system about 6 to 7 hours ...

hmmmm....thanks guys. It sounds like an offer I may take you up on. Its about 2 hours but what the hell it'll be worth it. I gotta find a time i can get off from work when were out for winter break. I'll let you know if I can find some time. Thanks again.
