did u have to do any modifications to get the fuel door to fit and how much did it cost if you don't mind my asking?

let me first say thanks for the compliments, I appreciate them.
now for the business.
The fuel door does not fit perfectly even after modifying it. The attached picture will show what I mean. You have to modify the car and you have to modify the fuel door itself.
1. The car: remove the stock door. the space between the 2 screws that attach the stock unit will need to be ground down (aka towards the front of the car) quite a bit to make a relief for the new units hinge. you will also need to drill new holes so you can attach the new unit. Thats all the easy part.
2. The fuel door itself has a coating of something on it and its hard as h3ll! I ended up using and angle grinder on it to remove almost all of the metal I needed to remove. You have to pretty much go around the entire diameter of the door and grind it down to size. This gets scarey when you know how much it cost. You also may need to grind some of the thickness out of it on the underside of the door so it fits in the hole in the car. After you grind the door it looks like crap. I took my dremel and sanded all the grinder marks smooth and tried to round everything back out. Then I went over it again with 600 grid sand paper and got it nice and smooth. Then I took some aluminum wheel polish and polished the snot out of it until it looked like the rest of the door.
I still need to go to my screw supplier and see if I can get a screw and bolt to take the little gap out (look at the attached picture). I just want to make sure i have the same screws all the way around the door.
All in all it turned out pretty good I would say. I did take up a good day to get the fit right and another 2 hours or so of sanding and polishing, but it was worth it. Thanks Irate for doing it first.
Ok, the fuel door is for a Mustang and if you live in michigan it will cost you almost $120 shipped to your door. The cost is $99.95 plus shipping and tax if your in Michigan.

I was going to ask you that, cause I've looked at some Electric, servo-operated locking gas caps. You have a switch inside the car, and it opens by itself, and closes and locks. Its pretty sweet.

You dont need to have the kind that just fits the Bullitt Mustangs. There's a lot on ebay and at some ricer stores that are the same thing except about $40 cheaper. Still looks awesome nonetheless.

you really want electrical things operating in an area that has fuel spill over?
in your n-body registry your car looks a bit low.....but no springs mentioned.......? You have springs on there?
