Hptuners has already paid itself off in my opinion...

What was the first thing that spyhunter do? He sent the speed limiter to the execution block. Yes, i no longer should have a trouble getting past 105mph at the track.

I also sacked the engine torque management silliness. Who needs that? I told the torque bastard to find new work.

Managed to fool with the idle settings a bit, car seems much more well mannered sitting still.

I do however over the weekend deal with the removal of the apex'i s-afc and the I'm sure to be few hours time retuning and becoming more intimate with the software.

Yeh um sweetness

Very Nice. I can't wait til I get my hands on something to get rid of all that useless crap on my ride.

So forgive me for my lack of knowledge but HPtuners is a program that you hook into the stock computer or does it have to be performance upgraded model such as one from DHP?

Its software suite that's basically two programs that you install on a laptop or desktop... It also comes with a black box that will, down the road, be enabled to work without a laptop being connected to it. Until then all it does is allow your computer talk to the car, read what the car says and reflash new settings..

The editor software lets you read and edit parameters in your pcm programming. The software downloads your current pcm settings, then with the program you can edit most everything from spark to fuel to idle to injectors to whether throwing a code will set a ses light or not etc... When you're done you can flash to the cars pcm the updated settings...

The scanner software allows you to datalog, check and clear DTC's and a few other things so that you can check later on...

I duno how dhp works since they didn't have any plans to work on 4cyl applications.

Its sexy stuff though, sorta like regedit for windows hehe.

Good news to hear you finally got it..

Is there even torque management w/ manual trans? Learn something new every day :)

I had no idea TCM was used on Grand Ams. I thought my Trailblazer was the first to use it?

Ohhh yeah it does. One of the reasons I think there is a soft barrier at around 14.9 n/a in the grand ams without a tuner.. I used to see all types of false knock due to tm in my car, shame that powertuner and hptuner came out after i demodded
