This is a fantastic update and really gives me the message that it's ready to have some fun on the track. Both the wagon and the sedan convey this. I love it and I put it at the top of my list for my next car.
It reminds me of the Audi A4. This is way better than the old ones.

Its pretty nice, but the Impreza needs more help than this car. The Legacy needs a new name, this car is so far removed from previous generations that the name is hurting the car. I see a lot of Mazda 6 influence in the interior. Paddle shifters are great, something Nissan is totally missing the boat on.

subaru is, without one doubt, the best car company in the world, that no one knows anything about.
IF they decide to bring an STi legacy to the states, ill buy it in 08

Thats because up until 5 years ago they sold the quirkiest crap in the US. They are on the right track, but the curent Legacy's failure and the Impreza's (non-WRX) relative anonymity show that the company has some work to do. The Forester is a good competitor to the CRV, Escape, RAV4 bunch, but their other cars don't stand out enough to make it onto most people's lists- the Tribeca isn't doing all that well from what I've heard and it tries to stand out...

^^ That's because the Tribeca is focking ugly. It's standing out, but not in a good way.

Not bad I really like the legacy gt's but I'm seriously leaning towards a 2 seater for my next car

I test drove an '06 Legacy GT yesterday...plan on buyin one in a couple weeks. Its got some get up and go and the best stock suspension Ive felt in awhile. My favorite part was the shift buttons on the steering wheel. Fun as Hell

Looks pretty good.
I totally dig the Pontiac Asstek influence in Subaru's & VW's headlights nowadays.

I think it looks like a nice upgrade..will it help sales figures...maybe so. Amazingly most people will pass cars like this up for something GHEY like a Camry. I agree with the Tribeca being nasty...it ties the Aztek for ugliness...in person from the front its hideous. I surely see alot of the Audi-ness in the exterior though it COULD be just the wheels that are doing that. The center console and esp. the audio controls have gone McIntosh audio-ish like crazy...not bad but then again its not McIntosh either. The rear seats look identical to the Catera Sport. Finally, I think the sedan looks MUCH better than the wagon which as far as wagons go isnt doing much for the eyes. Some companies can make nice looking wagons(BMW) and others as shown here cannot.
Overall though, a nice upgrade.

I've always Liked that car ever since it was re-designed the First time. Looks Good, I like the nice clean Line's.

I didn't think it was possible for the Legacy to get any better looking since there isn't a better looking sedan for less than 50 grand end of story.
I have liked the Legacy since before it was available with the new turbo or the flat 6, but the drawback was the lack of power, and I swore it would take first place over the GTP in my book of favorite sedans if they ever turboed the Legacy again... (remember the late 80's early 90's legacy turbo?) well they did and it's been a favorite of mine ever since, but the coin is not there right now to purchase without some severe pain on the budget for me.
Still I need this car even more now.

Looks good.
My brother had a 1995 Subaru Legacy that he used until he got through grad school. He bought a Jeep, and gave the Subaru to my Grandparents. It now has close to 220,000 miles on it and still runs great.

I love the Legacy- but the Corolla-esque front ain't doin it for me. I don't like this new grille any better than the 06 Impreza grille. I like the 06 Legacys a lot better. I had an 06 as a loaner, very nice car. I drove my friend's 98 turbo for like 300 miles home from VT- huge fan. It was a beast.
subaru ftw!
