Actually since Ive been on this site for a few years now, mostly regarding 3400 performance stuff, I finally own an Nbody!

I picked up a 2000 Grand AM GT at a local dealership to replace my old, rusted and busted 94 Cavy Z24. My Cavy was the daily beater for the last 6 years, and Ive been looking for something to replace it with. The Cavy was already on it last legs, the engine was overheating, the ac stopped working, and I got rear ended a couple weeks ago.

I also have a 94 Beretta Z26 that Ive been buying alot of parts for over the last 9 months or so, Ive got a built 3400 to drop into the engine bay, custom Wiesco forged pistons, custom headers sent to Jet Hot, 3500 UIM, TCE TB, FFP UDP, Fidanza billet flywheel, Spec Stage III+ clutch, 5 speed and custom DHP Powertuner OBDII swap into the car. I havent gotten everything assembled yet, but it should be running by August hopefully.

The 2000 GAGT has 54k on it, pretty loaded except for leather seats, moon roof, and monsoon sound system.

Not that I care about the Audio system, Ive already got alot of audio pieces from my Cavy that I'll be installing.

Heres a couple pics, as for now its going to remain stock until I finish the Z26.

Its going to be getting new rear rotors and brakes this week, and my Felpro metal intake gasket set just came in as well, so maybe next weekend Im going to pull the top end apart.

I thought the monsoon system was standard on all GT models.

you might wanna search around before installing any new 6x9's in the GA, IIRC there are problems with some speakers and the monsoon setup

Im pretty sure the GT didnt come with Monsoon until 2001/2002. I have a 2000 GT as well and sure enough, no Monsoon. Nice lookin' car!

^ Monsoon debuted in 2001. Standard on all GT's.

what so 1 3400 wasnt enough for you , you wanted two headaches? lol

nice purchase. the pre '01 GAs didnt have monsoon, but they did have a factory amplified system. the 6x9s were called "dual voice coil" but were actually coaxial 6x9s with crossed over inputs. the highs came from the deck and the lows came from the amp. if you swap out to aftermarket 6x9s youll loose the low end.

EDIT: i just read the parts about replacing the LIM gaskets...you already know how smart that is...

i like the green color. i've been thinking of getting a different paint job, that color definately crossed my mind, but i'm leaning toward a firey orange kind of thing i saw on a GAGT at a dealers.....

2 3400's are never enough, let me just say this. 2.2 Auto's are teh suxors! 120 hp and Zero ft lbs engines just need to die.

Yesterday I replaced the rear rotors and pads, just with stuff you get at Autozone, and it stops alot nicer then the rusted and heavily worn rear pads and rotors. I also changed the oil, whoever changed it last used some crappy no name brand filter, bastards! Ac Delco PF52 filter, and Mobile 1 FTW.

There was no milkshake, but I saw some coolant seeping down the side of the head, so I'll be changing that asap. Probably next weekend, or the week after that.

Reset buttons on the fuse panel are cool. :angel
