hey guys, upper strut area's starting to pop and grind when turning so im thinking after some searching around that its the strut bearings. I know the bears are in the plate but what im wondering is does the bearing plate come with a whole new strut assembly or can I order a strut bearing plate seperate?
Thanks

Interesting question... I would buy a whole new unit because that area is pregreased and clean.. Any rocks or sand in there can wear those down quicker than a wife beater on a summer day..

Is it a easy swap?

if you are hearing a pop that means your bearing plate is poping out of its grove in the strut assembly at the top, so good chance the bearing plate god destroyed and took out the strut mount at the top

GM sells Bearing Plate and Strut Mount Seperate. (Do a search - I posted part numbers for each so you can get at gmpartsdirect.com) However, more than likely, popping is from misalignment, and the mount and seat eating each other apart.
If you order strut mounts from KYB at Tirerack per say, KYB strut mounts inlcude the seat with it. However, the KYB seat doesnt have a bearing? Look at my recent post for pic of it.
