Is there a reason why GM stopped using them after 99? I'm going to guess "cost"?

I'm assuming that the 99 aluminum control arms will swap into 2000-05 cars without modifications.... I think I'd like to swap them into my Cavalier when I get onto my front N-body knuckle/F & Y-body brake swap....

I wonder if the Prothane urethane bushings will fit them easily? :)

Only reason I can think of is cost. No one knows for sure though. I'm going to try finding a set myself for my '00 and I don't see any reason why they wouldn't swap right in since they didn't change anything else in the suspension or subframe between those years. I'll be swapping in poly bushings too from my steel arms.

let me kno how your aluminium control arm swap goes . they should save a lot of weight. find out anymore as to why they stopped using them. what's the make of your urthene bushings etc info info .

i notice the newest body style of grand prix 's have a ton of aluminium front suspension parts . claener and likely lighter . stronger then steel i do not know .
