OK, so my 2004 GAGT got new coolant soon after i bought it in 2005. Sept. 16 2005 it got a complete coolant flush with new coolant. Now, 11 months later, i get a low coolant light. So, after researching about the dex-cool issue, i took it to the dealership, after GM told me that "i cant take a pontiac to any dealership except a pontiac one" (bull sh**) and told them to look at the intake manifold gasket. sure enough, i needed a new one of those, and new dexcool. $953 the service guy told me. So, i called Ilissa Mira (the phone number for her is in the other post about dex cool) and she took my info, and informed me that they went to a class action hearing in Jan2006, and they are awaiting the judge's decision to become a class action suit. If so, it will be a multi-district suit, so anyone in all 50 states can join. Please call her if you have any of these problems.

sweet, I will have to call involving my IMG getting replaced as of right now :)

It's at a shop owned by my aunt's brother-in-law so I am getting a pretty good deal, about $600 and he's gonna clean my intake and replace my sparks/plugs too

I would not get all excited about a class action suite the reason is I had a similar problem with GM. I owned a 1990 Lumina it had problems with its brakes. Gm decided to undersize the brakes and tie the parking brake to the rear brakes with a spring. Regardless this setup does not work I had calipers replaced and rotors etc. At the time I was a noob about cars. I spent a large amount of money ~1000 calipers etc.
Long story short GM was sued in a class action suite for their crappy brake design. I had my receipts for 1500 bucks had work done twice on it. I got on the band wagon to sue them. I was psyched when I got the check in the mail. Guess how much it was for $78.00. The money that was available was split amoungest everyone. Dont expect GM to pay for the complete cost thats not happening. I would like to get my money back for that repair but we all are a drop in the bucket to GM. Many people own the Grand Am and Gm will settle for the lowest amount possibel. Divide the money up by the people and its going to be low. For the Lumina I was supposed to get 70% back about $1050.00 instead I got a note saying there was to many people and not enough money.

That's what happens typically with large class action suits. About the only people who profit are the lawyers seeing as how IIRC they take not just a percentage from the total settlement but rather a percentage of the money awarded to each "client" thus resulting in more money for them but less for the plantiffs.
