My 96 GMC Z71's back window is falling out =(

Yup the damn thing is falling out =(

I went to 1 auto window place and they said it will take at least half a day and about $150 to reinstall it. How the hell is that possible? They can replace a front windshield in under an hour but they cant do a rear windshield in the same amount of time? WTF? I am gonna go get another estimate of course but i was wondering what you think would be a fair price.
Right now i have black duct tape holding it on but that wont do for long. I wonder if my insurance covers rear windshields, i know they cover the front for a $50 deductable.
Is there anyway i could do this myself ya think? Its my winter beater and DD so it dont have to be perfect, just dont want it to fall out or leak.

If you can't find somewhere else to do it cheaper/faster, just get the stripping and a buddy and do it yourself.

Im not sure how to do it or what to get. Ive never done windshields before, im clueless in this department.

Do you have an opening window in the back, or just a standard window? That's the only thing I can think of that might cause the extra cost. I dunno much about it either, but I don't see how it could take half a day to replace a window.

Yeah i have a slidding window but i dont know how that would make any difference.

Hey man thanks.
Kinda strange what happened when i left work yesturday. I seen an auto glass company installing a windshield in my employee parking lot so i stop and asked him what it would cost me to reinstall my back windshield on my truck. He said at the VERY MOST it would be $80 but more than likely $50 or so and would take about 30-45 minutes tops.

The adhesive or whatever it is that is used lookes to be coming undone. Its about halfway to completely falling out.
I just shut my door and heard a loud 'slap'. So i opened and closed the door again and seen my rear windshield slap against the cab.
