I can't find any "recent" information on it. I find snippets here or there, that the next updated is supposed to be able to do a Case Learn, and that it is continually updated. I just can't find anything that says the current version, and when the next update is.

What I am worried about, is the community surrounding it is dead. The website for DHP has a link to the Forums, but all I get is a 404 error?

And is it true, if you use the Power Tuner to update your PCM, that you don't need to do a case learn, since your not actually unplugging the battery?

My project car up to this point was a 66 Mustang, so I know something about cars, but the technology is all about 40 years old. (The reason I found the DHP Tuner was I was looking for a shift kit, which apparently the Power Tuner replaces the need for.)

I couldn't find anything using a search, but then again, half the terms I use to search say they are too small, or too common. So I hope this is the right place to post this.

You did. The DHP site is way outta date. Current version is 1.1.9, with a beta 1.2.0 out. You can do a CASE learn, and have been able to for quite some time.

As a side note, there is no such thing as a shift kit for the 45e. If there were, it would be to address the poor hydraulics. There are a few fixes in this area in the lines of hard parts, but you would need to take it to a shop, or tear it down yourself. It would be to replace valves, accumulator pistons, solenoids, and the seperator plate with updated/aftermarket parts.

The DHP tuning community isn't dead either. They probably haven't updated the link on their website. Their forums are part of another forum though, but to access the DHP section you need to own a powrtuner and register on the forum. There are plenty of people using and tuning with the powrtuner though.

If you are doing a partial write on a pcm you don't need to do a case learn. Often even a full write doesn't require it, but sometimes it does. Usually any time you are working on the engine where you move the crank, or if you replace the pcm, then you need to do a case. You can do this easily with the current version, as well as reseting fuel trims in real time. The tuner doesn't replace a shift kit. Since the 4T45E is electronically controlled by the pcm, you can use the tuner to modify how the tranny shifts. As Tejohnson already mentioned though, there are some issues with the hard parts of the trans that need to be adressed if going for lots of power. For a mildly modded car the tuner should be enough IMO for sportier shifting.

Thanks for the info guys. Ill buy it as soon as I "borrow" my girlfriends laptop....

And I think an example of the transition from old car to new, is the shift kit.
When I say shift kit, I mean an actual kit that goes in the valve body of the old automatics, to speed up shift times and time such, not beef up the tranny itself.
Thats what I meant by shift kit, and the Tuner replacing it.
