save that money buy the kyb agx's and do it yourself. But that price sounds about right.

I thought that you couldn't install springs without certain equipment?

EDIT: nevermind, I just did a search and found other threads with tips. I plan to get a GM service manual, I assume that would give the same instructions as the haynes (and more, of course) manual?

Hell no that aint right!!!! They are taking your for a walk man, laugh at them and never go back!

You can easily do this yourself and you dont 'need' special tools or even air tools (makes it way easier but not absolutely needed) other than a spring compressor which you can rent from autozone. You get your money back when you bring the compressors back. I personaly dont use them.

Get some freinds together, a few cases of beer and follow these instructions.

Your total cost will be the springs and beer.

dont think anyone bought the coilovers...if they did im sure its not the same...too $$ $1500.00 not worth it unless youre into autox for competition money or something.

Hey blackhill, if I wanna get new struts and springs put on, would you do it for $50 and a case of beer? I work in Ann Arbor, so we could work out arrangements. Don't know if I need my struts replaced but I might. If I end up needing struts and springs, I'll be wanting to do them at the same time to save money.

Just let me know what you think :)

I'm definately going to be in East Lansing starting on the 21st, so you'd have to cruise up here.

Well, upon rethinking, I just realized that I was thinking about Ypsilanti, not Lansing lol

Ah well, I'll have to see, might work but might not. Maybe someone closer wouldn't mind helping me out? :)

i remember awhile back someone said tireman (or something similar) would put your springs and struts together for about 20 bucks each. if you do that it wont take long at all to switch them out. it took my friend and i about an hour to basically do that. so that might be easier to do if youre doing it by yourself.

While we're on the subject...

I have a set of eibachs, if I were to get a set of KYB struts about how much of a difference in strut life would I see from stock?

One of my struts decided to crap out on me over the weekend, so I think it would be better to replace the remainder sooner, rather than later.

Rich

if you're going to install lowering springs, get the struts and do them all at the same time. the kybs would last longer than the stock springs with the eibachs, if thats what youre asking.

Okay, I think my struts really are going bad, but I am not sure; my step-dad will be taking a look at them when we do my window regulator this week. But my question for now is my driver's front wheel well has grease in it, as does the inside portion of my rims. Now I know that a ruptured CV boot (I think that's the right part, but you should get the idea) will leak grease or whatever it is, but will a strut do that? There is grease up on the underside of the part the spring sets into.

Oh, and I decided that my step-dad and I can handle replace my struts. Using the guide for replacing springs was helpful in realizing how easy it really is to remove them. But is there another guide geared towards the strut replacement? Cause I know it's not the same thing, plus I want to replace the bushings (I think?) with polyurethane ones (don't judge me, but is that the correct part, or it is the mounts, or what?)

Thanks

how long do the intrax take to deliver from drive wire anywas?

Not exactly. What I am trying to find out is what is the difference in life span from the KYB and eibachs to the stock set up. Supposedly, there are no "Lowering struts" for the GA and any strut you use will decrease the lifespan when used in conjunction with lowering springs.

Hey did anybody have trouble getting the top nut back on the strut in the rear? Got my fronts installed without a problem and got everything off in the rear and can't get the nut to tighten all the way down on the strut rod. I got it started and when I hit it with the impact gun the nut just spins with the strut bar. I can't get the boot to slide down from the top for some reason. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

i dont think there will be any problems besides maybe a funky looking rake.
