As the title says, someone broke into my car last night. Stole my faceplate and radar detector. The cops are on their way over here right now.
The doors were locked - I do the double chirp every time I leave my car. They got my doors open and then just lightly closed them so they were still open an inch. Thankfully, my sub is still there. But I figure it's going to be 1k before I get everything back to normal. I doubt I'll be able to buy just the faceplate.

Doesnt matter where you live, your **** can still get jacked no matter what demographic you live in. If anything it can happen more in wealthy areas because stupid rich kids have nothing better to do on weekends than ride around at night and steal/break ****. Trust me, I grew up with those kids...
EDIT: What main cross roads do you live at, Tyler?

I live on Rochester Road between Hamlin and Avon.
The cops, my parents, and my small group leader all think it was for drug money.

Sorry to hear man, I used to drive that section where you live when I worked for Brooklands Elementary as a technician assistant. I agree, things like that can happen no matter where you live. To think that they happen in certain places is just stupid (not to be mean to anyone). Since my driver window doesn't stay up (without the help of some trusty popsicle sticks, that is), I take my faceplate everytime I leave my car outside my house. I leave it in at work, cause no one is gonna take it here and there are security cameras and all

I never imagined I'd have to take all my stuff out every night... guess I'll have to do that after I spend a crapload of money rebuying my stuff.

Well when my window worked, I didn't worry about it. But since the window problem, I take it out cause I would be stupid to leave it in lol

they either tried to steal the entire head unit and couldnt or got spooked and ran off, stealing the face plate is enough to piss someone off

They were trying to be really quiet. My sub was left untouched (fairly nice one, Infinity 10.1d). The doors also weren't shut all the way - opened and then pushed closed slowly until it locked.
A funny side note. My girlfriend left her purse in my car. It was so ugly the theif left it :amraam:
