what exactly is torque managment and how does it work?

The basic idea is the PCM pulls ignition timing, making the engine create less power between shifts....... hopefully saving the transmission.....
It does more than that, but that is the quick explanation

most tuners will remove it ............period! Mine's gone. Can cause false knock, sloppy shifts, lost power, bla, bla, bla. As with anything in life, "The risk factor". Some of us don't really care when the tranny goes because it will be upgrade time.If you're going to really mod the car, get rid of the TM. You'll want it gone and without a tuner of your own you'll be stuck with it.....just a thought.
PS. With TM gone, keep the wheels straight when hard accelerating. Without the TM the trans can be damaged if you get on the gas too hard in SHARP turns.
