I have to say I hope this mod is worth the effort I put up with. Its rather funny in hindsight how the little diagram from pfyc fails to address the little issue of the bridging pipe of the headers by completely leaving it out... So it took longer than I had hoped it would (like 2hrs+ actual vs .5hr expected) and it took a few on and off cycles to clear the SES light because I had the cap off the coolanttank with the engine running I assume. All in all though all the scrapes, cuts, and cursing in frustration makes ya feel good when everything is back together sucessfully.
How long has this taken anyone else?

Wiring sucks...I dont think it is possible to not get a cut/scrape when working with wires in tight spots. lol. I hope you like the results...it seems like it is worth it.

Took me about an hour. Once you take your tb off its cake. I took this time to also bypass my tb. It really does stay cooler, I went and ran the piss out of it for like an hour after, and didnt even see temps above 200 in 88* weather. IMO its worth it for the $5 I paid for it

Changing the stat with headers on the car is a bitch. Took me about an hour and my fingers were so sore when I was finished.

Really?? I would think there would be more room without those big stock heat sheilds. Did you take off your tb?

How Did You Get That Bottom Bolt Out Of The Thermostat Housing!!! It Is Driving Me Crazy!!!!!

Once you've loosened it up some with a 13mm box wrench use your fingers to back it out the rest of the way. If you look closely you'll see that the bolt hole for the bottom is more like a slot so that you can slide the housing up and away once you've got the bolt undone enough.

i was thinking of doing this but i dont think itll benefit much now that winter is coming. i might just hold off till spring.
i dont think this will be tough at all, ive taken off my TB a few times so so im pretty used to the process.
blower motor resistor on the other hand was a b1tch for me today.

Almost any repair on cars is a bitch these days. Though if you think about it a 180 tstat just keeps the engine slightly cooler than a stock would so there really isn't that huge a difference I would think. Course I'll find out just what diff it makes this winter...

180* T-stat really helped keep temps down, and I love it now that I have my pcm so the fans stay in and intake manifold spacers. Great for inbetween runs at the track
