Hi everyone, I really need some help here. I have an 01 Grand Am with 102,000 miles on it. When I get on the freeway and hit 70+ it feels like the front wheels are shaking/wobbling/vibrating. It's noisy. This is a sudden problem that just happened a few weeks ago. Any suggestions? My tires and brakes are fine from what I see. Thanks for any advice!

mine does the same. it could be alot of things, like brakes GA's have really bad rotors. your ball joints or tie rod's, and alot of wear in tear on your tires.

Or you could just start with the basic. Your tires are not balanced properly or your car is off allignment

I did have to replace the rotors once already becuase the driver's side was warped. The tires though are fairly new. I will check those other things out though. Maybe the rotors need to be replaced again. Thanks!

Jack up your car in the front end and do a tire shake, like <> up down. thats what people do if there tie rods and ball joints are loose.

I am pretty sure you would notice a ball joint problem much sooner than 70 MPH and that would be more of a steering problem.

Could have a bad strut or a broken spring possibly .

Road force balance the tires.

Sounds like an alignment issuee.

Alignment WILL NOT cure a vibration problem.

If the wheel just started shaking then either you have a large chunk of dirt stuck inside the rim of one of the front wheels or a tie rod or ball joint is going bad. When my tie rod end when bad it showed up as a vibration right at 70 MPH and higher. It would be just fine below that speed.
