I have a 1993 Grand Am that has died. I am thinking about parting it out to help recoup some of my money.
It has the 2.3 SOHC quad4 engine with auto trans.
Body is Maroon, interior is gray cloth. body and interior in good shape.
I put a rebuilt head on this thing a few months ago and it ran great. The other day my daughter calls me from school to tell me its making a lot of noise under the hood. I started it and lots of noise from the top of the engine. It started missing real bad then died. Then it wouldn't restart, just cranked and cranked.
Had it towed to the garage, the mechanic checked timing chain,ok, removed oil pan, rods and crankshaft all looked good, so we are thinking maybe a stuck valve. A compresion check showed no compresion on #2 cylinder.
Anyway, I give up. I am tired of screwing with it, already went and bought my daughter another car, so I will sell the car as is or part it out.
Anybody interested in anything from this car, let me know.
