Just as the title says i bought a XPS 400 6 months ago. It has the maxed out option for the 400 class.
Comes with 17" Ultrasharp dell LCD monitor (12ms)

Pentium Dual Core 3 Ghz Processor (Blazing Fast, never had a problem with it freezing ever!)
140 GB HD
1 GB DDR2 Memory RAM
256MB 7800 GTX Geforce4 ($600 option thru dell) Awesome video card!!!
Combo (2 drives) DVDROM drive and a DVD/CD-rw burner drive 48x
Optical USB Mouse
Dell keyboard
Surround Sound dell speaker system w/ Subwoofer rated at 100 watts ($80 option)
Anyway all together i got a great deal thru dell. I got the whole package for $1850.... If your were to try and build one from dell it might cost a little more now, because at the time i got some discounts and savings after christmas.

Was looking to sell it not sure what to start out asking....Taking offers
NO LOW BALL OFFERS PLEASE........ Serious buyers only if your looking for a great computer cheap now is a great opportunity to pick one up. If the price is right ill throw in Half-Life 2, F.E.A.R., Maddon 07. I need to focus more on school and get something a little more practical for the basics. Anyway, if you want to make this a bid war be my guest and post up otherwise PM me with offers. Thanks guys

looks like a great machine, If ya don't sell it here, sell it on Ebay, I've sold numerous of my gaming computers on eBay, and got most of my money back, if not more...But afterall, it is a Dell.. Dell = :amraam:

if you are really just trying to get back to the basics... how about a trade?

my machine is pretty powerful but not as much as yours...

Celeron D 3.06GHz
1 GB DDR RAM
200 GB HDD + 80 GB HDD
DUAL DVD+/-RW DL Drives
128 MB Geforce MX 4000
Mouse/Keyboard

We can just exchange cases and drives... (I want to keep my larger drives and DVD burners)

EDIT: Just noticed that you were in Michigan, so you wouldn't have to ship unless you are really far up North.

I cant see that happening..He spent $1800 on that system, and from your specs I could probably build that system for under 400 bucks. Just lettin ya know. From what he is sounding, he probably wants most of his money back..

You're absolutely right about the cost of parts... Roughly 400... However I replied because he says he wants to get back to the basics... Thanks for your input.

yea there will be no trading unless its an awesome deal plus some cash involved heh. Anyway about what gtplaya said about dell = :amraam: Only reason i feel dell isnt perfect in the first place is 1. they use generic parts remanufactured 2. they cannot be BIOS modified at all! the motherboard is lock solid no tweaking to the mother load :amraam: ....Anyway all in all its an amazing machine and sure beats any other brand out right now besides alienware. But spending 3500 on a system is out of my range heh... I think ill go with the typical build my own .

You know that dell bought Alienware right? They are unsure yet what exactly is gonna go down. If alienware will actually merge or stay seperate. Or if AMD will join dell or XPS join alienware..
