Not that I post that often here, but a buddy of mine was at his favorite scrapyard and they happened to get in a 30k miles '02 GAGT coupe with leather interior. He gave me a call and told me about them, I told him to pull the seats and since he's there all the time, I got them really cheap. I cleaned up the fronts and installed them today, I'll be pulling the rears out later this week and installing them then.
Things to note on this swap, the passenger side is a bolt in, and the plastic trim around the seat mounts are a direct swap. Also the drivers side is a bolt in, but the rear bolts are different between the leather seats and the cloth buckets. The bolts in the cloth seats are wider, and since the mounting brackets are different they wouldnt fit the leather buckets. So I had to use my sandbelt and grind on the edge of the bolts, I actually had to do it twice, and I finally got them small enough to go in and bolt down all the way. Oh and the front and rear trim pieces around the mounts are different and will not swap with the leather bucket.
I do like the 6 way power seat now, much better then my 2 way power seat.
OH! Also the car had mint OEM floor mats, the dealership put some crappy Saturn mats in the car or something, so its nice to have ones that fit now.
Now for the pics....

Leather seat swap part deux
I had the day off, so I decided to finish the leather seat swap that I began this past weekend.
Wasnt that difficult of a swap, had to figure out how the side pieces come off the rear, the lower pieces that you bolt to the floor pan where hidden behind the belt.
I got everything installed in about an hour, wasnt too bad. That includes all the cleanup time that I spent on the seats.
Difficulty on this swap, 2 out of 5.
Oh and I found the seat belt holders, and the middle seat belt stashed away behind the seats and were that way from the factory.
So I untucked them and now I'm using them on the belts.
Now for teh pics...

The leather conversion looks great! I have a leed on some leather seats and I came across your thread.....the question I am seeking is, going from 2 way to the 6 way...is the wiring harness the same (plug and play) or did you have to modify the harness. Also could you have just used the bolts from the leather seats? My buddeis sister just racked up her 2004 GAGT so the interior is all still intact...and all the parts are there.

^im pretty sure it should just plug in since all that wiring harness really does is give the seats power everything thats different is inside the seat. I dont really know though im just guessing.

and what about the driver side seat bolts.....if you use the bolts out of the leather seat instead of the cloth do you still have to gind down the heads of the bolt to fit?

You will probably have to just try it and see for your self because I havent done this myself and the person who posted this thread probably isnt around to answer your questions.

OK......to finish this thread!....I just did the cloth to leather swap this moring and it took approx 45 minutes...here is what you need to know about the swap and its pretty simple. All you need for tooling is a torx T50 , 13mm wrench and a 13mm socket. Make sure you remove the rear seat first (it makes for an easier removal of front seats since they have to be reclined for final removal)
REAR SEAT-The rear seat consists of two parts...first you remove the lower portion of the rear seat ,simply pull up on the fasteners under each side of the seat, once that is removed....fold down the back portion of the rear seat...there are 2 bolts located burried at the base and between the split in the seats (13mm wrench) its a tight squeeze. Once the bolts are loosened off pull from the middle...it takes some wiggling around to free the pins up on the left and right side.
The two cusion pads to the left and right side of the rear seat are fastened under the pad with a 13mm bolt and is best reached with a socket with an extension, once the bolts are removed lift in an upward direction and pull out.
FRONT SEATS- Make sure front seats are slid forward all the way to expose the bolts on the rear of the track , there are only 2 bolts per seat (Torx 50) when removing the drivers side front seat make sure all electrical contections are disconected. once the bolts are removed recline the seat and pull it back in an upward direction (the front or the seat is held in a track) Repeat these steps with the passenger front seat as well. My Grand Am is a sedan, so getting the seats out may be easier for me since they come right out the back door rather than a coupe.
****IMPORTANT**When doing this swap make sure you get the bolts with the driver side leather seats....the leather and cloth seating on the drivers side do have a different track system and the bolts are not compatible with one another****
Going from 2 way to 6 way power seats the wiring harness is the same..it is a true plug and play operation. to install the leather into your car just follow instruction in reverse Hopefully I posted enough info here to answer questions you all may have with a cloth to leather interior swap!
