New Cai!

I just installed a new CAI that I bought off of ebay. It wa by Chrome Intakes. A 3 piece intake with a K&N filter. It took me a little over 2 hours... I don't really know what I am doing so that is why it took me kinda long... but in the end I got everything to work just fine. no problems... things are a little snug in places but i am guessing they are supposed to be. I took it for a little test drive and i do have to say I definetly see a diff in power and in sound. Both are better! lol but ya I will try and post pics in a little while. anyone else can post if they want! let me know about your experience.

yeah I miss my SLP drone too! I sometimes forget my car is on now, since I was not used to it sounding so damn quiet! :(

i get the same feeling. my newer GA is so quiet, i need a cone filter just to know its running.

and yea, a CAI will get youa a while 3/4 of a hp. its all perception because of the sound.

EDIT: unless the stock air filter was clogged, then it would make a difference.

I'm going to be lucking out. I'll be getting my own CAI soon and my stock airfilter was pretty nasty last time I checked it, but it passed the "see the light" test so I left it in.

ok cmon jeese guys... seriously. and like i am serious about the v6 on steroids thing... cmon and i seems like there is a difference in power. It seems like it gives it a little more go... i mean i am not talking huge but... sheesh... you guys are harsh...

Well atleast the ricer kids will think you have a turbo now because you have an intake... They seem to think a cone filter is a bov.

On another note, we all know an intake isnt anything. But for me it was just a base for other mods.

well i was planning on getting the magnaflow muffler with some Borla exhaust tips maybe... I want dual single tips if you know what i mean. I don't have enough money for the SLP and this will be just as good don't ya think? I like how the magnaflow sounds. and love how the tips look!!

A muffler isnt going to be as good as a full catback because you have smaller piping which restricts airflow. Which i had gone with the slp piping cause the exhaust shop said they couldnt recreate the bends with 2.5 piping, sorry pieces of sh!t.

I don't have exactly that much money either, and yet I'm closing in on $2500 invested and am planning to double that in a year. Trust me, you'll find ways to make the money to satisfy the bug's cravings.

ya... eventually i will try to get the bigger piping from like the cat back... but you know... i can do it a little later... i just want the sound and little power and dual tips... cuz that just looks awesome... imo and ya AJ you are prolly right lol

CAI = 12 hp
muffler = 23 hp
tips = 6 hp

41 hp gain, that shoud be good for mid 13s. lol

honestly theres better ways to spend your $ rather than just a muffler. been there done that.

well i am going to spend my money on a muffler and tips because i want the sound and I love how it looks... it looks so much better than stock... and will that really get you 41 HP!! OMG WOW!! no way i don't believe it... lol and what would you say that the better way to spend money would be...?

Go full exhuast, reflashed pcm,ud pulley if you want some power without spending a fortune

well i am getting the muffler and tips for now... then finish the rest of the pipes when i get some more money... ya know? i don't have to do it all at once... then i was thinking about the new pcm...
