I got a call today for a full sporsorship from www.pimpmyride.com Anyone ever seen or heard of this thing? But if anyone else goes there and fills anything out and it asks who referred you put my name, Eric Hepler, so youll help me out too! I get my contract packet and stickers in a week or so. The guy said all I gotta do is put the sticker on my car and go to a few car shows and things. He also said if/when I need parts to just call them and talk to the parts guy and hell send them to me. Ill update when I get the packet! Im excited....lol
did you have to pay any money for it? I did one kinda like that were they said if I get a sponsership they would charge me $80.00. Well I got 2 BS sponsership that kinda sucked. Hope yours is different.

i looked at that, and its lame. all you get is stickers and deals on more stickers. nobody will sponsor a car thats not already known ont he show circuit and wont get them publicity.
you need to show devotion, knowledge and that your car has public exposure to get a REAL sponsorship. usually its mainly if your car is going to be in a magazine, theyll sponsor you for the exposure, but its a grand am, so chances are even more slim of any of that.

Hey does your car actually have any type of performance/show done to it at all? If so post up. If you have a good amount done and people think its clean, you should definately goto shows if your trying to ge sponsored, or at least looked at. Alot of things people here do to GA's come as a big wow to ever other car owner. If you wont get a sponsor, youll get some street/show credit and be recognized...

Why would anyone sponsor a stock car?
Gizm0815
09-26-2006, 10:10 AM
because then they can sponsor it and put there parts on it so he can show off and show people the performance of their products

Better question, why would they pick some John with a stock grand am to promote car parts. They have a better shot at taking a Ford Ranger pickup with parts in the back and parking in the parking lot of shop rite and promoting. SPonsors invest money in people yes, BUT thye dont just give them parts. Alot of the time they will lend them parts for shows ect and if they get awards/prizes then its on the sponsor..."Hey that guys got a so and such intake and he won a prize wow" and for that publicity the guy keeps the part...Thats why most sponsors, like hte pimp my ride crap, give STICKERS. Because 1. str33t r4c3rs see stickers and go berserk and buy stuff..."I need nos."

Be very suspicious of messages in the mail. Its all well and good to investigate, I just wouldn't get my hopes up.
-Edit-
Besides if someone like pimpmyride came knocking on my door I'd tell them to leave me a blank check and go away. They're all about show rather than go. Heck I cringe when I see them hand over the hot new rides to these people who had garbage cars. I give em all one week before everything is trashed to sh!t

sounds like carsponsorships.com, pay like 75 bucks, get stickers and discounts on parts out of a catalog.sounds like a scam to me as well, though they did have a huge booth at nopi this year.good luck with it and let us know what the packet talks about

with mods like that dont expect any big sponsor. people on here have spent 20 times what you have and have magazine quality rides (with matching body parts) and still dont get sponsored.
you would need to decide if you wanted to go the audio route, speed route, or the appearance route, and go all the way. once you do that, you might be able to get sponsors in another category. the stuff youve done is ordinary stuff, nothing creative (not to be mean, but im being honest).
also, who would sponsor a car without inspecting it? car clubs wont even let you in without meeting you and seeing your car.
