My brothers cav has 380, 000 with only a head gasket done, and shes running perfect. These engine are as bullet proof as the 3.1/3.4.

i had a friend with an old cavalier with some v6 motor... it was retarded at around 425000 miles.. yeah it somehow managed to survive that long, it shot a piston through the head and out the hood... then everything else blew up too... he was on a cross country trip from san fran to somewhere in new hampshire.

just started delivering pizza w/ my GA about 5 weeks ago...got about 82k on her right now. the plan is to save up and buy an old Cavi or something that can get beat up and rack up miles while preserving my baby.

DrFabulous
10-09-2006, 01:24 PM
01 with 82k.... last year and some I've averaged almost 20k/year. Only 1 cross country trip.... it's the 100+ miles/day for school/work that kill it. I don't even have enough dowtime with it to change the wheels lol

73k got it in 2002 with 32k.

I think our Malibu would win in low miles and most problems.
1997 3100 with 65k.

Any thing that could have went wrong did.

Yeah his 2001 grand am gt finally died at 203,000+ with a cracked block and only 1 LIM replace over that time....

That has to hold the record for the 99+ grand ams. 2001 w/ 203,000 miles

My 2003 has 81,000 miles...

Broke 131k in my Z-24 Cavalier today. I think my system's killing my alternator though. Its getting noisey, though it could be the 9 years of michigan cold.

I have 149,000 on mine. It would have been much more if I hadn't bought my Trailblazer a year and a half ago.

My GA still runs fine with the exception of it missing when I accelerate. I think I need to replace the UIM gaskets.

I plan on driving it until the wheels fall off. I still love it :)

2000 GAGT with almost 104k miles on it.

Still runs as beautiful as the day I bought it new with 8 miles on it. Never had a tune-up, changed the fuel filter or any of that other crap that you should do. One big reason why I don't buy all the domestic-hater crap that spews out of their mouths.

Rolled my friends 99 SE2 over 198,000 last night on the way to a party. She's only had to replace the LIM 2 times and the sunroof motor once. The car is in mint condition. She plans on keeping it for another few years.

I got 141k on my 01 and about to mod the heck out of it. Runs like a charm and has had the LIM replaced once at 138k. Of course it needs some TLC with just replacing the worn out stuff but nonetheless runs great.

im pushing ~162K in my 96, but has a new motor with ~85K it ws out of an achieva that was all garage kept and never really ran. (they pulled it out after about 6 months of sitting there to drive it to the store and they were "T" bones in the rear and totalled. atleast it was very well taken care of, they said it was started and left running 3 times a week that way the motor didnt go to bad.)(they said they took it to the local GM dealership for every and all repairs and fluid changes. lol. pathetic.)

just over 130k on an 01. Runs better now than it did when I got it in June 06. Don't get me started on what I fixed and needs fixing; the car gets me to work every day. No bling to make note of.

On a side note, I had a '93 Bonneville with almost 250k till the rear axle broke (my stepmom was driving it when it happened. Apart from some rust and age, it ran like a champ. Can anybody beat that?

My moms jeep had 315K on it when we gave it to a family friend 6 years ago and hes still driving it, i think he said it has about 400K on it now, had to have the head gasket replace but it has a striaght 6 in it, so it can handle alot. that jeep was the only jeep i ever heard of that ever hit that high and still runs great.
